I haven’t posted anything for a while (so sorry, busy, don’t you know?) but I thought I’d link to a couple of articles today celebrating the demise of GMTV. There’s a lot of cretinous bilge on the box these days but GMTV is the jewel in the shitty crown. Once it’s gone, perhaps we can start to chip away at the One Show, the X-Factor, I’m a Celebrity etc. People who like those shows are, as we all know, Darwin-defyingly stupid.

But TV is, all of it, for stupid people. Film and theatre are for clever people. Stupid people need something to make them sit down and be quiet sometimes otherwise they would be running around having kids and fighting all the time. So we should celebrate and be grateful for crap TV!

Not all tv is necessarily stupid. A few good documentaries manage to wedge themselves between the bilge; I’m not adverse to a bodice ripper or two (costume drama):)

Yes TV is stupid 97% of the time but it doesn’t have to be.If we didn’t all bend over and take this crap (all with an idiots grin on our faces) maybe the forces that be would actually give something intelligent a try once in a while.
