About this site

I’ve created blogs and websites before, either to promote my work or to provide myself with a forum to spout unasked for opinions or share links to other bits of the internet I think might be of interest. These previous endeavours have met with varying degrees of success but they have all been deliberately self-contained and I now think that was their real limitation.

Over the past few months, I’ve come to realise (probably late) that de-centralisation (sic?) is the way to go; using my space to aggregate social network sites like TwitterFlickrGood ReadsYou Tube etc. That way, this site doesn’t stagnate due to my infrequent posting because something is always being updated. It also allows multiple entry points into the site from elsewhere.

This space is neither specifically to promote my work, nor is it entirely personal. I’ve called it “Julian’s Brain” because I’m hoping it will be a repository for anything – be it work, random thoughts, ideas, links, recommendations etc. – that interests me enough that I log in and post it. I hope it will continue to evolve into something at least curious, if not actually useful.

I hope you’ll find something on here that interests or diverts you. If you have any comments or suggestions, please post them or get in touch with me via the homepage.

Enjoy.
